BGB on Maximum Alert to Prevent Fuel Smuggling Along Naogaon Border
Due to the volatility in international oil markets triggered by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, patrols, searches, and intelligence surveillance have been intensified to stop the illegal outflow of fuel from the country.
In a press release issued on Saturday morning, March 7, 2026, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Mamun, Commander of the 14 BGB Battalion, stated that additional personnel have been deployed across the Naogaon and Joypurhat border regions to ensure that no one can exploit the global energy crisis to smuggle fuel. BGB members are maintaining close monitoring over the transportation and supply of fuel. Alongside preventing fuel smuggling, the BGB remains vigilant in curbing all types of cross-border crimes, including drug trafficking and illegal border crossings.
