The meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka, focused on reinforcing the strategic partnership between the two nations and addressing mutual interests. Kapur arrived in the capital on Tuesday night as part of a multi-day visit aimed at deepening cooperation in key sectors.

According to ministry sources, Kapur's itinerary includes a follow-up meeting with Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman and discussions with several top government ministers and business leaders. The primary agenda of these talks revolves around expanding bilateral trade, increasing U.S. investment in Bangladesh, and enhancing security cooperation. A major point of interest is the Indo-Pacific region, where both countries are looking to align their strategies to protect shared interests and ensure regional stability.

The Assistant Secretary’s visit also carries a strong economic and political focus beyond governmental meetings. This evening, Kapur is scheduled to attend a dinner hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham), where he will interact with prominent members of the business community. On the final day of his visit, he is expected to engage in exchange programs and opinion-sharing sessions with leaders from various political parties to understand the broader domestic landscape.
