Unprovoked Attacks on Sovereign Nations Send a Dire Global Message: LGRD Minister
Speaking at a memorial service on Monday (March 2) for Professor Dr. Shahida Rafiq, the Minister remarked that killing heads of state or forcibly detaining presidents of independent nations sends a terrifying message to the world. He emphasized that such actions reflect a dangerous shift in the international political landscape.
Regarding domestic issues, Mirza Fakhrul lamented the fragile state of the country's education system, claiming that 17 years of fascist rule had systematically dismantled national institutions. He noted that establishing human rights, ensuring good governance, and building a welfare-oriented state remain the primary challenges for the new government. Furthermore, he expressed disappointment over the lack of respect shown to women in certain circles, specifically mentioning the disregard for figures like Begum Rokeya, and urged everyone to be more vocal in protecting women's rights.
