Modernizing Commute: PM Envisions Monorail Alongside Metro Rail

This ambitious vision was shared following a high-level meeting at the Secretariat on Monday (March 2). Renowned transport expert and BUET Professor Dr. M. Shamsul Huq briefed the media on the discussions held with the Prime Minister.

Prioritizing the comfort and safety of female commuters, the Prime Minister has also directed the authorities to launch specialized electric buses for women within the next six months. The meeting further touched upon strategies for decentralizing Dhaka to reduce the city’s over-reliance on the central hub. Throughout the day, the Prime Minister maintained a busy schedule, holding separate sessions with ministers from various departments including Finance, Home Affairs, and Education to discuss national progress.
