The repatriation was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare, the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

According to officials, most of these individuals fell prey to human traffickers who promised them illegal passage to Europe via the sea. Instead, many faced abduction and brutal physical torture in Libya. Upon arrival at the airport, IOM provided each returnee with pocket money, food supplies, and medical assistance. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the returnees to share their harrowing experiences with the public to raise awareness against the grave dangers of illegal migration and trafficking.
