In a public warning notice issued on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the authority stated that these measures are aimed at ensuring passenger safety and maintaining operational discipline. The notice, signed by DMTCL Director (Administration) A.K.M. Khairul Alam, emphasizes that unauthorized digital content creation is now a punishable offense.

The restriction covers all areas under DMTCL jurisdiction, including station areas, platforms, concourse halls, entry and exit points, and the interiors of the trains. Prohibited activities specifically include filming short videos for YouTube, TikTok, or other social media platforms, as well as personal or commercial photography and professional movie or drama shoots. Any individual or organization found violating these rules will face administrative and legal action in accordance with existing laws and DMTCL policies.

For those interested in using the metro facilities for professional or commercial purposes, the authority has provided a regulated pathway. Such activities must adhere to the "DMTCL Commercial Space Rental/Lease Policy 2023." Interested parties are required to submit a formal application and pay the prescribed fees to obtain the necessary permits. This move follows similar regulations implemented in other major global metro systems to prevent public nuisance and protect the privacy of daily commuters.
