PM Tarique Rahman Pints Rank Badge on New IGP Ali Hossain Fakir
The ceremony took place on Wednesday (February 25) at the Prime Minister's office in the Cabinet Division of the Secretariat.
Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed and Home Secretary Manzur Morshed Chowdhury were also present during the ceremony. Ali Hossain Fakir, a member of the 15th BCS (Police) cadre, previously served as the chief of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN). His journey to the top post is notable, as he was twice faced with forced retirement and dismissal during the previous Awami League regime for political reasons. Following the political change on August 5, 2024, he was reinstated through a legal process and eventually promoted to the highest rank in the police force.
