Speaking at the Secretariat on Wednesday (February 25), the Minister noted that the situation regarding the new US tariff policy is still evolving and "sensitive." He emphasized that the government is evaluating all aspects before deciding on the next steps.

The Minister mentioned that while there are talks of a uniform 15% tariff for all countries, no official document has been received yet. Regarding the local market, he assured that the supply of essential goods is stable, although some unscrupulous traders are attempting to manipulate prices. He issued a stern warning against extortion in the markets, promising visible action. Additionally, the Minister expressed regret over recent incidents during TCB product distributions and confirmed that dealers have been cautioned to maintain strict discipline.
