Land Minister Mizanur Rahman Minu Announces Corruption-Free Land Services
Speaking to journalists at the Secretariat around 11:30 AM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the Minister emphasized that the government is determined to ensure transparency in every service related to land management. He issued a stern warning that immediate and exemplary legal action will be taken against any official found guilty of specific corruption charges, stressing that the administration aims to build a public-oriented service structure.
Supporting this vision, the State Minister for Land, Barrister Kayser Kamal, announced that the ministry will now strictly adhere to a "zero tolerance" policy against corruption. He stated that the primary goal of the current administration is to eliminate the harassment citizens traditionally face at land offices and to ensure that services are provided swiftly without the need for illegal payments. The ministry plans to address existing bottlenecks through the expansion of digital land management systems and enhanced administrative monitoring across the country.
Mizanur Rahman Minu, a veteran politician and former Mayor of Rajshahi, assumed office following the formation of the new cabinet led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. During his recent view-exchange meetings with divisional and district officials, the Minister reminded government employees that they are constitutionally entrusted with their duties and must serve the people with integrity. This reform initiative is part of the government's broader "31-point agenda" for national development, which prioritizes transparency and accountability in all public sectors to improve the lives of citizens following the recent political transition.
