Major Shake-up in Army: New Chiefs for DGFI and PSO

According to an order issued on Sunday (February 22), Lieutenant General Mainur Rahman has been appointed as the Chief of General Staff (CGS). Meanwhile, Major General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman has been promoted to Lieutenant General and appointed as the Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division.

In another significant move, newly promoted Major General Mohammad Kaiser Rashid Chowdhury has been named the Director General of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI). The outgoing PSO, Lieutenant General S.M. Kamrul Hasan, and the former DG of DGFI, Mohammad Jahangir Alam, have been seconded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for ambassadorial roles. Additionally, new GOCs have been appointed for the 24th and 55th Infantry Divisions, with Brigadier General Md. Hafizur Rahman being promoted to Major General to lead the 55th Division.
