On this inaugural day of his official duties at the PMO, he was welcomed by Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar and Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.

Before beginning his formal work, the Prime Minister engaged in a heartfelt exchange with officers and staff who had served during the tenure of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. In an emotional atmosphere, the Prime Minister greeted many long-standing employees by name, reminiscing about their years of service. Following the interaction, he planted a "Swarna Champa" (Golden Magnolia) sapling on the office premises and participated in a special prayer, seeking the nation’s prosperity and expressing gratitude to the Almighty. Senior officials, including the Prime Minister’s Defense Adviser Brigadier General Dr. AKM Shamsul Islam, were present during the session. After the prayer, he performed a key state function by releasing a commemorative postage stamp in observance of Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day 2026. A heightened security presence and a festive atmosphere were observed throughout the Tejgaon area to mark the Prime Minister’s first day at the office.
