Mob Culture Hinders Nation-Building: Water Resources Minister
Speaking after paying tribute to the language martyrs at the Lakshmipur Central Shaheed Minar on Saturday morning, he stated that mob culture could become a major obstacle in building a new Bangladesh. He emphasized that those engaging in such activities must return to responsible conduct; otherwise, they will have to bear the personal consequences of their actions. The Minister underscored the importance of collective efforts toward nation-building, regardless of differing opinions.
Regarding the election and constitutional processes, the Minister noted that the mandate of the people was secured in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, and the Members of Parliament have already taken their oaths. He clarified that since the "Yes" vote prevailed in the referendum held under the July Charter, it would be automatically effective in Parliament, requiring no separate oath. Furthermore, he explained that issues receiving a "No" vote or a "Note of Dissent" would be deliberated and determined through established parliamentary procedures. He urged all stakeholders to avoid unnecessary controversy and focus on how to sincerely support the government in moving the country forward. Top leaders from the local BNP and its affiliate organizations were present during the ceremony.
