Sylhet DC Summoned by Court

The order was issued on February 8 by Senior Judicial Magistrate Sudipta Talukdar of Sylhet Amli Court No-2. On August 4, 2024, a person named Taj Uddin was killed during the protest, leading his wife to file a murder case. The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) sought key documents from the DC and the BGB deputy director to conduct a proper investigation.

While the BGB provided the required information, the district administration did not comply. The court directed the DC to submit a written explanation within 15 days, warning that failure to do so could lead to legal and departmental action.

DC Md. Sarwar Alam stated, “I have heard about the show-cause notice. A response will be submitted to the court.”
