UK PM Congratulates Tarek Rahman
On Thursday, the congratulatory letter was posted on social media by the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In it, Starmer congratulated Rahman on his election victory and formal assumption of office.
He highlighted the long-standing close ties between the UK and Bangladesh and expressed confidence that cooperation would expand under Rahman’s leadership. Starmer emphasized collaboration on trade, investment, climate action, security, and tackling irregular migration.
The UK Prime Minister also welcomed Bangladesh’s generous treatment of Rohingya refugees and looked forward to the next chapter of bilateral partnership.
