EC Orders Preservation of CCTV Footage from Polling Stations

On Thursday (19 February), an office order signed by Mohammad Monir Hossain, Deputy Secretary of the Election Administration-2 Branch, issued the directive.

The order states that footage captured on the day before and the day of the election must be preserved. These recordings are to be submitted to the office of the respective Assistant Returning Officer for use as evidence in any future legal matters.

The notice also mentions that preservation of footage is mandatory for all polling stations where CCTV cameras were installed on 12 February. The recorded videos must be maintained and submitted following the prescribed procedure to ensure they can be used if needed in legal or administrative investigations.
