The grand event, held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, saw the assembly of naval forces from 70 countries, demonstrating global maritime solidarity under the theme "United Through Oceans."

Indian President Droupadi Murmu served as the chief guest, reviewing a formidable fleet of 71 warships and nearly 50 aircraft from the presidential yacht, INS Sumedha. Bangladesh was represented by its advanced frigate, BNS Somudra Avijan, which joined other prominent international vessels such as Indonesia’s KRI Bung Tomo-357 and the UAE’s Al-Emarat. The presidential review included a ceremonial steam-past by warships and submarines, precision flypasts, and high-intensity combat drills by marine commandos.

During her address, President Murmu emphasized that the gathering reflects unity, trust, and mutual respect among nations for maritime traditions. She reiterated India’s "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" philosophy, stressing that maritime security is a collective responsibility essential for global growth and stability. The participation of BNS Somudra Avijan highlights the strong professional bond between the neighboring navies and Bangladesh's commitment to ensuring a secure and open maritime order.
