Rule of Law, Not Coercion, Will Be the Supreme Principle: PM Tarique Rahman
Speaking Wednesday night at 9:45 PM, he stated that the country has regained the opportunity to restore citizens’ rights and dignity thanks to freedom-loving, democracy-oriented people. He added, “Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Christians—regardless of faith, living in hills or plains—this country belongs to all of us. We aim to make it a safe homeland for every citizen. Establishing a self-reliant, secure, humane, and democratic Bangladesh is the goal of the BNP government.”
He noted that the new government has taken office amid the legacy of dictatorship-era corruption, misrule, a fragile economy, weak governance, and deteriorated law and order. Restoring public confidence, peace, and security through improved law enforcement and strict anti-corruption measures is a top priority. Gambling and drug proliferation have been identified as key factors undermining law and order, and authorities are taking stringent action to control them.
The Prime Minister concluded, “To ensure peace and security in daily life, the government is taking the highest initiatives. Every constitutional, public, and private institution will operate under established rules and regulations. The rule of law, not party influence, political pressure, or coercion, will be the final guiding principle of state governance.”
