Minister of State Sultan Salahuddin Tuku Prioritizes 'Krishok Card' on First Day
He shared this vision on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, while speaking to journalists during his first official working day at the Secretariat.
Upon assuming his new role, Tuku emphasized the importance of coordination, stating that his primary objective is to hold meetings with officials across his assigned ministries to streamline operations. "Today is my first day in office. I will begin by discussing strategies with the relevant officials to ensure we can start our work quickly and effectively," he remarked.
The Minister of State highlighted that the 'Krishok Card' is the top priority for his administration. The ministry aims to finalize the distribution process rapidly to ensure that benefits reach the grassroots level without delay. According to the BNP's election manifesto, these cards are designed to provide farmers with direct access to government incentives—including fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides—while also facilitating crop insurance and low-interest agricultural loans.
This initiative is viewed as a landmark step toward the digital and economic empowerment of the farming community, ensuring that state support reaches the rightful beneficiaries directly, thereby eliminating middlemen and enhancing national food security.
