At approximately 11:00 AM, he placed a floral wreath at the altar of the memorial and stood in solemn silence for a few moments to honor the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War. During the ceremony, a sharp contingent from the armed forces provided a guard of honor while a bugle played a somber tune.

In anticipation of the Prime Minister's visit, unprecedented security measures were implemented across the memorial and its surrounding areas. A visible three-tier security blanket consisting of the Army, Police, and RAB coordinated patrols throughout the Savar region. Authorities utilized dog squads and bomb disposal units to sweep the Dhaka-Aricha highway and connecting routes to the memorial. While public access was temporarily restricted for security reasons, the premises were reopened to the general public immediately following the Prime Minister's departure.

After concluding the program at the National Martyrs' Memorial, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visited the graves of the late President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia to offer floral tributes and prayers (Ziarat). He is scheduled to officially begin his duties at his office in the Secretariat this afternoon. His itinerary includes presiding over the first special meeting of the newly formed cabinet at 3:00 PM. Additionally, he will participate in an exchange of views with secretaries from various ministries to provide directives aimed at enhancing administrative dynamism.
