Interim Government Dissolved, Gazette Notification Issued

According to the gazette, under Article 56(3) of the Constitution, the President has appointed Tarique Rahman as Prime Minister, as he commands the confidence of the majority members of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad. Approval has also been granted for the formation of a new government under his leadership.

The notification further states that with the formation of the new government, the advisory council of the interim administration stands dissolved.

A separate gazette has also been issued regarding Rahman’s appointment as Prime Minister. The notification was signed on the President’s order by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani.
