Chief Advisor’s Chief Secretary Resigns

The Ministry confirmed the resignation in its notification issued on Monday.

Previously, on Saturday (February 14), the government canceled the remaining tenure of Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid's contract, and he also submitted his resignation. Following this, M. Siraj Uddin Mia, the Chief Secretary of the Chief Advisor’s office, was appointed as the new Cabinet Secretary. However, just two days later, he too submitted his resignation.

Siraj Uddin Mia, a former Joint Secretary, had been appointed Chief Secretary to the Chief Advisor on a two-year contract starting October 2, 2024. His tenure was scheduled to end in September of this year.

Meanwhile, Dr. Nasimul Gani has been appointed as the new Cabinet Secretary. His appointment was officially announced today (February 16) through a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration. Dr. Gani had previously served as the Senior Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs.
