Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Administration has appointed Home Secretary Nasimul Gani as the new Cabinet Secretary. A gazette notification has already been issued in this regard.

M Siraj Uddin Mia was appointed as Principal Secretary to the Chief Adviser in October 2024 on a two-year contractual basis. In his resignation letter, he cited his inability to continue serving for the remaining tenure.

Last Saturday, he had been given additional charge as Cabinet Secretary. However, Nasimul Gani, the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, has now been officially appointed to the post.

Following the announcement of the 13th parliamentary election results, the contract of then Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid was revoked. At the time, he stated that he had previously submitted his resignation, but it was not accepted due to the election process. The order has now been formally issued.
