Speaking to reporters on Sunday, he said that, given the current context, the Chief Election Commissioner is expected to administer the oath, although official confirmation will follow.

He added that after the MPs’ swearing-in, the BNP will elect its parliamentary party leader between 11:30 am and 12:00 pm.

Traditionally, cabinet oath ceremonies are held at Bangabhaban, but this time the event will take place at the South Plaza of the National Parliament complex, reflecting BNP’s preference. According to available information, the President will administer the oath to the new cabinet members.

Explaining the choice of venue, he noted that the Parliament premises and South Plaza carry significant historical importance due to the July–August mass uprising, the July Declaration, and the July Charter. The site is also associated with the funeral prayers of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and activist Osman Hadi.

Regarding invited guests, he said the Cabinet Division is handling the matter as per convention, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has invited foreign ministers of SAARC member states. He was unsure whether any foreign prime ministers have been invited.
