The ceremony took place on Tuesday, February 10, at the state guest house, Jamuna, where the keys were presented to Hadi’s wife and family members.

Sharif Osman Hadi, a prominent young leader, was shot in the capital's Bijoynagar area on December 12 shortly after announcing his independent candidacy for the Dhaka-8 constituency in the 13th National Parliamentary Election. Despite being flown to Singapore for advanced medical treatment, he succumbed to his injuries on December 18. Following his death, the Chief Adviser pledged in a national address that the state would take full responsibility for Hadi’s wife and their only child. As part of that promise, the National Housing Authority allocated a 1,215-square-foot apartment in the "Government Doel Tower" in Lalmatia.

During the ceremony, Professor Yunus honored the sacrifice of Osman Hadi, stating, “We are committed to realizing the dream of a beautiful and equitable Bangladesh that Hadi envisioned. His family will henceforth be under the care of the state.” The government allocated 10 million BDT from a special fund to purchase and furnish the apartment. Additionally, a further 10 million BDT financial grant from the Chief Adviser’s fund is currently being processed to cover the family’s living expenses.

The event was attended by Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, Information and Broadcasting Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Housing Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam, and the Chairman of the National Housing Authority, Ferdousi Begum. Martyr Hadi’s wife expressed her profound gratitude to the Chief Adviser for this humanitarian support.
