Bangladesh to Procure Four Massive Vessels from China to Boost Maritime Capacity
According to the Chinese Embassy, the acquisition includes two Crude Oil Mother Tankers and two Mother Bulk Carriers. The total investment for this project is valued at $241.92 million. Specifically, $151.96 million is allocated for the two oil tankers, while the remaining $89.96 million will cover the cost of the bulk carriers.
Ambassador Yao Wen stated that these vessels are expected to significantly augment Bangladesh’s shipping capabilities and expand its international trade reach. He emphasized that this cooperation would improve Bangladesh's maritime autonomy and affirmed China’s commitment to elevating economic and trade relations between the two nations to bring tangible benefits to the people.
