Government to Write to UN on Hadi Killing Probe on Sunday
According to a statement issued on Friday (6 February), the letter will be officially dispatched on Sunday (8 February), the Office of the Chief Adviser confirmed.
The government reiterated that it is firmly committed to ensuring justice for the killing of Hadi. It said the legal framework for conducting an investigation under the auspices of the United Nations is being carefully reviewed, and the decision to write to the UN is part of that process.
The statement also noted that the country is currently passing through a sensitive political period ahead of the upcoming election. In this context, the government urged all stakeholders to exercise patience, restraint, and a sense of responsibility.
It further stated that nearly 180 million people in Bangladesh are eagerly awaiting the election, while the international community is closely observing developments in the country. A significant number of foreign journalists and international observers are already present in Bangladesh.
