Services Will Reach Citizens, No Need to Visit Offices: Chief Adviser
On Thursday afternoon (February 5), the Chief Adviser made these remarks at the State Guest House Jamuna while receiving a report titled ‘Institutional Evaluation and Activities of Training Institutes,’ prepared by the Governance Innovation Unit (GIU) of the Chief Adviser's Office.
The Chief Adviser stated, "Our primary goal is that citizens should not have to come to the government; rather, government services must reach the citizens. We must automate services through the use of technology so that decisions are implemented swiftly."
Criticizing the outdated training systems, Professor Yunus noted, "Often, we see infrastructure without skilled manpower, and training methods are not up-to-date. As a result, the impact of such training is not visible. From now on, there should be an incentive or reward system based on evaluations after training to motivate employees."
The Chief Adviser instructed the development of high-quality training institutes and suggested a ranking system among them. He also called for providing training opportunities for private-sector employees in these government institutes to foster a sense of pride. Notably, this evaluation was initially conducted on five institutions, including BPATC and the BCS Administration Academy, with technical support from the UNDP. Senior officials, including Principal Secretary Sirajuddin Mia, were present at the event.
