48% of AL Supporters Shift to BNP, Youth Prefer Jamaat: CRF Survey
The survey indicates a high voter enthusiasm, with 90% of respondents planning to cast their ballots, although 20% expressed concerns regarding election day safety and potential irregularities.
The study highlights a strong preference for Jamaat-e-Islami among the youth. Among first-time voters since 2008, 37.4% chose Jamaat as their preferred party, while 27% opted for the BNP. Other parties like the NCP are expected to secure around 17% of the youth vote. When it comes to decision-making factors, 30.4% of voters prioritize the party symbol, while 30.2% prioritize the candidate's personal qualifications. The survey, conducted on over 11,000 voters nationwide, also found that anti-corruption promises (67.3%) and the ability to control commodity prices are the top priorities for the electorate.
Jointly conducted by CRF and Bangladesh Election and Public Opinion Studies (BEPOS), the research involved two phases of data collection between November and December 2025. The results suggest that the majority of voters are looking for honest leadership to fulfill the aspirations of the July uprising. Despite some underlying fears regarding polling station environments, the survey concludes that the massive participation of young voters will be the defining factor in the 2026 general election.
