No Fear Within Police Force, Elections to Be Peaceful: Home Affairs Adviser
The meeting was specifically organized to ensure the smooth conduct of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and the referendum. The adviser dismissed concerns regarding "mob violence" and stated that the law enforcement agencies are well-prepared for any situation.
Regarding candidate conduct, the adviser warned that any candidate engaging in indecent behavior would face social isolation once their actions are exposed. He further added that strict legal actions would be taken if anyone exceeds the limits of the law. He confirmed that regular drives are being conducted to recover illegal firearms ahead of the polls to prevent any potential violence. He emphasized that the security forces are committed to maintaining a neutral stance and ensuring a stable environment for the voters.
The meeting was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Director General of BGB Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, Director General of RAB AKM Shahidur Rahman, and Director General of Ansar and VDP Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, along with senior secretaries from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Election-related officials from the Rajshahi division were also present to discuss local security measures. The Home Adviser reiterated that the government is dedicated to delivering a credible and violence-free election to the nation.
