Journalists Must Remain Uncompromising on Professionalism: Info Adviser

Speaking as the chief guest at the ‘Media Festival 2026’ organized by the July Revolutionary Journalist Alliance at the National Press Club on Monday, she emphasized that media personnel must never again succumb to political subservience.

The Adviser expressed disappointment that Bangladesh has failed to establish a full-fledged Media Commission or a Broadcasting Ordinance in 54 years. She stated, "We are working to finalize these two ordinances based on consensus from the government and journalists. Even if time is short, we will at least leave behind a finalized draft." The drafts have already been uploaded to the ministry's website for public opinion.

She further advised journalists to maintain objectivity, regardless of internal disagreements, to prevent the return of any autocratic systems. During the event, a special hotline number (09644111444) was launched to provide immediate assistance to journalists performing their duties during the upcoming referendum and elections.
