NID Correction Services to Resume January 25
ASM Humayun Kabir, Director General of the National Identity Registration Wing, confirmed the decision to the media on Thursday afternoon, January 22.
He explained that the correction process had been temporarily suspended to facilitate the finalization of the voter list for the upcoming national referendum and the 13th National Parliamentary Election. With the voter list preparation now complete, citizens can submit applications for corrections starting this coming Sunday, January 25. However, the Director General noted that while most services will resume, a few specific categories of corrections may remain restricted for the time being.
Previously, the EC had limited server access to ensure the accuracy of new voter inclusions and transfers ahead of the polls. The announcement of the full resumption of services is expected to bring relief to thousands of citizens who have been waiting to rectify errors in their names, dates of birth, or addresses.
