Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed emphasized that the commission has carefully considered the current market reality and the rising prices of essential commodities while drafting the new pay structure. Since the last pay scale was implemented in 2015, approximately 1.5 million government officials and employees have been advocating for a salary adjustment to cope with inflation. In response to these demands, the interim government formed the Pay Commission last July. The new recommendations are expected to bridge the gap between existing salaries and the current cost of living, providing much-needed financial relief to the public sector workforce.
