Interim Government Reorganizes Administration with 4 New Police Stations and Key Divisions
During the 119th meeting of the National Implementation Committee for Administrative Reorganization (NICAR), chaired by the Chief Adviser at Jamuna, the committee finalized the creation of Purbachal North in Gazipur, Purbachal South in Narayanganj, and Matarbari in Cox’s Bazar. Additionally, the existing Raipura station in Narsingdi will be split to form a separate police station for better local governance. This inaugural NICAR meeting under the current administration, attended by six advisers and 14 senior secretaries, saw the approval of a total of 11 administrative proposals aimed at nationwide structural improvement.
In another major move to reform the country's financial sector, the government has authorized the formation of two distinct administrative divisions under the Ministry of Finance. These new entities, titled the ‘Revenue Policy Division’ and the ‘Revenue Management Division,’ are designed to enhance transparency, ensure accountability, and bring dynamism to the government's revenue collection system. By separating policy-making from management, the government aims to modernize fiscal administration and optimize tax collection processes to meet future economic challenges.
