Evaly’s Russell and Shamima Arrested Again
According to DB sources, there were more than 200 arrest warrants pending against these two top Evaly officials in various police stations across the country on charges of fraud and embezzlement. Among these, over a hundred warrants were pending at the Dhanmondi Police Station alone. The raid was conducted as part of legal proceedings in several cases filed at Kafrul and Savar police stations as well.
As the news of the arrest spread, a fresh wave of discussion erupted on social media. Many defrauded customers view the development positively, hoping for a potential refund of their stuck money.
It is worth noting that this couple was previously arrested by RAB from their Mohammadpur residence on September 16, 2021, on charges of fraud and misappropriation of customer funds. Following a long legal process, Shamima Nasrin was released on bail in April 2022, and Mohammad Russell in December of the same year. Although they attempted to revive Evaly after their release, they are now back in DB custody due to numerous outstanding warrants and legal complications.
Police stated that they are currently being interrogated at the DB office, and further legal action will be taken following the interrogation process.
