He made these remarks during a meeting with a four-member delegation from the National Citizen Party (NCP) at the State Guest House, Jamuna, on Monday evening (January 19). Led by NCP Convener Nahid Islam, the delegation shared their observations and concerns regarding the electoral environment. In response, Dr. Yunus emphasized that there is no scope for bias in this process and that the government is committed to maintaining a level playing field.
During the discussion, the Chief Adviser revealed that most polling centers will be equipped with CCTV cameras by the end of January, and officials in high-risk areas will wear body cameras to be monitored from a central control room. Highlighting the significance of the polls, he described them as a turning point for the nation's destiny. Regarding the referendum, Dr. Yunus defended the government’s 'Yes' vote campaign as legally sound, stating it is essential to explain the necessity of these reforms to the public. He urged all political parties to cooperate in ensuring a festive and fair election, inviting them to report any irregularities immediately for swift government action.
