Warning Issued for Bangladeshis in Qatar
In a notice issued on Wednesday, January 14, the Bangladesh Embassy in Doha stated that some fraudulent individuals and organizations are enticing Bangladeshis with promises of a better life, permanent residency, and high wages in Europe and America. After collecting significant amounts of money through various tactics, these fraudsters are going into hiding.
The embassy's notice mentioned that many Bangladeshi expatriates in Qatar have already lost everything after falling into these traps. Some victims have submitted written complaints to the embassy. Describing the matter as deeply concerning, the embassy noted that besides financial loss, these scams put expatriates at risk of facing legal complications.
Under these circumstances, Bangladeshi expatriates in Qatar are urged to exercise maximum caution before paying large sums of money to any individual or organization in hopes of moving to Europe or America. The embassy clearly stated that promises of going abroad without a valid migration process are not credible, and people should refrain from falling for such allurements.
The Bangladesh Embassy further added that it is essential to contact the government-authorized channels of the respective countries and the embassy to obtain accurate information regarding migration. They also called upon everyone to promptly inform the embassy if they encounter any suspicious individuals or organizations.
