53 More Candidates Regain Eligibility on Day 4 of EC Appeals

The EC conducted the proceedings on Tuesday (January 13) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, releasing the results in a press statement later in the evening.

Out of the 70 appeals reviewed today, 53 were approved. Tomorrow, Wednesday, the Commission is scheduled to hear appeals numbered 281 to 380. A total of 645 petitions were submitted challenging the decisions of the Returning Officers.

The success trend continues from previous days: 51 candidates regained candidacy on the first day, 57 on the second, and 41 on the third.

According to the revised election schedule, appeal hearings will conclude on January 18. Candidates wishing to withdraw have until January 20. Symbols will be allocated on January 21, marking the start of the official campaign period on January 22. Voting is set to take place on February 12, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
