Unidentified Body Recovered Near Indian Border in Feni

The body was discovered on Thursday morning, May 7, 2026, near the residence of a former Union Parishad (UP) member. According to local sources, residents spotted the body south of a local poultry farm and alerted the authorities. A team from Phulgazi Police Station arrived at the scene around 6:45 AM to secure the area. While the deceased is estimated to be between 45 and 50 years old, his identity remains unknown as no local residents were able to recognize him.

Nishad Tabassum, the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Feni, stated that because the body was found only 150 yards from the international border, the Border Security Force (BSF) of India has been formally notified. A photograph of the deceased has been sent to the BSF to assist in cross-border identification. In the meantime, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has commenced an investigation at the site. Authorities have confirmed that the body will be sent for an autopsy following the preparation of the inquest report, and subsequent legal actions will be taken based on the findings.
