Jamaat Youths Attack Police Inside Gaibandha Police Station

The incident occurred on Wednesday night, March 25, 2026, at approximately 10:00 PM.

The conflict reportedly stemmed from a dispute over locking a shop owned by the local municipality. According to police and local sources, a group of youths led by Mahmudul Hasan Polash, the Baitul Mal (Finance) Secretary of the upazila Juba-e-Islami, entered the station and pressured the OC to illegally lock the disputed shop. When the OC refused to bypass legal procedures, the group became agitated and physically assaulted him and other officers present.
