On Sunday (February 22), Hasan Jihadi surrendered before the Kurigram Chief Judicial Magistrate Court and sought bail, but Judge Md. Momtazul Karim rejected the plea and ordered him into custody.

According to the case statement, former UP member and BNP leader Shahidul Islam filed the case with Rajarhat Police Station, accusing Hasan Jihadi and 15 others of attacking his home following the 13th National Parliamentary Election. However, supporters of the student leader denied the allegations, claiming the case is "false and politically motivated." They argued that Shahidul's associates attacked Hasan first when he protested against loud music, and later fabricated the charges to harass him. Rajarhat Police OC Abdul Wadud confirmed that the case arose from post-election disputes.
