According to police and local sources, a group of youths arrived at the office early in the morning, broke the locks that had been in place since the July 2024 uprising, and entered the premises. They hung a new banner on the main gate stating that the office was now "open to all" after 18 months and reportedly chanted political slogans. The office had remained shuttered since it was vandalized and torched by protesters during the 2024 mass movement.

The police have identified the five detainees as: Shafiqul Islam, Kawsar, Ziaul, Abu Sayeed, Bidyut Ranjan Pal.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sudharam Model Police Station, Md. Touhidul Islam, confirmed that the arrests were made during a raid following reports of the unauthorized entry. "We conducted the drive as soon as we were informed about the banner being hung. The five individuals are currently being interrogated, and legal action will follow," the OC stated.

Following the incident, activists from the local BNP reportedly removed the banner and re-locked the office gates. To prevent further escalation, additional police forces have been deployed in the Town Hall area, and the situation is currently under control.
