Cash worth Tk 1.049 million recovered from candidate-linked vehicle in Chandanaiash, three held

The seizure was made around 11:30 pm on Tuesday (February 10) in the Abdul Bari Hat area of the municipality.

According to Officer-in-Charge Md. Ilyas Khan of Chandanaiash Police Station, the money is believed to be linked to independent candidate Advocate Mizanul Haque Chowdhury, who is contesting with the football symbol. Authorities said necessary legal steps would be taken in line with election regulations.

Meanwhile, the candidate maintained that the cash was allocated for legitimate campaign expenses and denied any wrongdoing.
