Biman MD Safiqur Rahman Terminated Over Child Abuse Charges; Dr. Humaira Takes Charge

To ensure the smooth operational management of the national carrier, Additional Secretary Dr. Humaira Sultana has been assigned the additional responsibility of MD and CEO until further notice.

The scandal broke out following a police raid on Sunday night at Rahman’s Uttara residence, where he, along with his wife and two others, was taken into custody for the alleged abuse. After being produced in court, they were remanded to prison. The incident has sparked widespread public outcry regarding the conduct of high-ranking officials.
