Jashore-2: BNP Candidate Issued Show-Cause Notice for Using Colored Posters
The notice was issued on Tuesday (January 27) by Judge Golam Rasul of the Electoral Inquiry Committee. Investigations revealed that numerous colored festoons and banners featuring the "Sheaf of Paddy" symbol were displayed across Chaugacha, which directly contravenes rules 7 (c) and (e) of the Political Parties and Candidates Code of Conduct 2025. The candidate or her representative has been summoned to provide a written explanation at the District and Sessions Judge Court by the afternoon of January 29.
In response to the allegation, Sabira Sultana stated that the colored materials were old and had been put up by supporters out of enthusiasm without her direct knowledge. She mentioned that while she had already instructed her team to remove such items following the Election Commission's earlier directives, some might have been overlooked. Asserting her respect for the law, she confirmed that she would submit a formal reply to the inquiry committee.
