'Go Prepared for Death': Madaripur DC’s Stern Message to Presiding Officers
Speaking at a view-exchange meeting held on Tuesday (January 13) at the Sadar Upazila Auditorium, the DC emphasized that no compromises would be made regarding election integrity. "The country cannot be allowed to be destroyed as in the past. If any presiding officer is afraid, they should inform us now; we will replace them with others," he stated firmly.
Reaffirming the administration's support, Jahangir Alam added that if any officer feels a polling station is becoming high-risk, they must report it immediately for swift action. He reiterated his commitment to delivering a free, fair, and neutral election to the public with everyone’s cooperation.
The meeting, chaired by Madaripur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wadiya Shabab, was attended by top officials including the Superintendent of Police, Army Camp Commander, and RAB-8 Company Commander. The Returning Officer also took questions from the prospective presiding and assistant presiding officers during the session.
