Safe and Sound: All Five Quintuplets Discharged After Successful Recovery
This heartwarming update was shared during a press conference held at Parkview Hospital on Tuesday. The medical team, including Obstetrician Dr. Farida Yasmin Sumi, Pediatrician Dr. Abdur Razzaq, and NICU In-charge Dr. Mohammad Sagir, were present to celebrate the milestone.
Dr. Farida Yasmin Sumi stated, "We had previously discharged four of the infants at different intervals as they gained strength. Today, the final baby girl was also cleared to go home. The parents, Sumon and Annie, are overjoyed to have all their children healthy and together at last."
Background: On December 8, Annie Akter and Wahidul Islam Sumon, a couple from Satkania, welcomed five babies. Due to premature birth conditions, the infants required immediate specialized care and were kept under close observation in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). After over a month of dedicated treatment, all five siblings have now survived and are in good health.
