Speaking as the chief guest at an Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB) meeting at Dhaka Sheraton on Tuesday (May 5), he remarked, "Private universities cannot be given the kind of freedom that fosters a 'Holi Artisan' like environment." He emphasized that while over-regulation stifles academic progress, complete lack of oversight risks turning institutions into breeding grounds for extremism.

Drawing parallels with Malaysia’s educational evolution, the Minister noted that while Malaysian students once sought education in Bangladesh, the trend has now reversed. He stressed the need for "reverse brain drain" by creating a welcoming environment for distinguished academicians to return home. Dr. Milan also announced a new administrative efficiency policy, stating that no official file should remain stuck for more than 72 hours. He aims to restructure the Ministry of Education's activities within 180 days to ensure swift results. Furthermore, he hinted at reviewing the approval processes for cross-border universities to ensure transparency and quality in higher education.
