Prioritize Skill-Based Education and Transparency: Bobby Hajjaj
He made these remarks during an exchange of views meeting held at the conference room of the Bureau of Non-Formal Education (BNFE) in Mohakhali, Dhaka, on Tuesday morning, April 21, 2026.
During the session, the State Minister issued strict directives to field-level officials to ensure absolute transparency and accountability in all departmental activities.
State Minister Bobby Hajjaj noted that non-formal education plays a vital role in reintegrating underprivileged and drop-out students into the mainstream. He urged all stakeholders to work in a coordinated manner to make the sector’s activities more qualitative and modern. "If students can acquire vocational skills rather than just rote learning, they will be able to establish themselves as self-reliant citizens in the future," he stated.
The meeting involved detailed discussions regarding ongoing projects, existing challenges, and future action plans of the Bureau. When field officials raised concerns regarding various operational issues, the State Minister assured them of swift resolutions.
The meeting was also attended by Md. Mokhlesur Rahman, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, and Debabrata Chakraborty, Director General of the Bureau of Non-Formal Education, among others.
Education analysts believe that promoting vocational and skill-based education—similar to the models found in developed and NATO-member nations—will have a long-term positive impact on Bangladesh's human resource development. By shifting the focus toward employability, the government aims to create a more resilient and skilled workforce for the nation's evolving economy.
