Government Takes Strict Stance to Eradicate 'Coaching Business,' Says Bobby Hajjaj
State Minister for Primary and Mass Education, Bobby Hajjaj, shared this during a press briefing on Saturday morning, April 18, 2026, after visiting the scholarship examination center at Mannan Government Primary School in Jattrabari. The Minister emphasized that the commercialization of education through coaching has become a major social issue, and the government’s position against it is uncompromising.
Bobby Hajjaj revealed that several "innovations" and policies have been identified to regulate the coaching culture, with pilot programs set to begin shortly. However, he noted that no significant complaints have been received regarding the current primary scholarship coaching. The government is also actively considering reforms to the scholarship examination policy, including increasing the number of participating students and the amount of scholarship funds provided.
Regarding school infrastructure, the State Minister highlighted large-scale initiatives such as the "Dristinondon Project" (Aesthetic Project) and "PEDP-5." These projects aim to increase the number of classrooms, construct modern washrooms, and redesign furniture to make schools more attractive and student-friendly. The government has intensified field-level monitoring to improve the quality of primary education, drawing inspiration from the modern educational frameworks of developed international nations.
The Minister concluded by reiterating that the examination system will be maintained and systematically improved to encourage students in their academic pursuits. During the center visit, the State Minister was accompanied by the Secretary of Primary and Mass Education, Abu Taher Md. Masud Rana, and the Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education, Abu Nur Md. Shamsuzzaman.
