Education Minister Announces Free University Education for Children of July Uprising Martyrs
During a meeting on Tuesday (March 24), he directed officials to ensure free education up to the university level for the children of martyrs and those injured or disabled during the July uprising. Aligning with the election manifesto and the vision of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the Minister emphasized a 180-day action plan and a five-year development strategy to modernize the nation's academic infrastructure.
The comprehensive plan includes groundbreaking projects such as "One Teacher, One Tab," multimedia classrooms, and the introduction of a mandatory third language. To alleviate the burden on families, the government will provide free school uniforms, shoes, and offer student loans for higher studies abroad. Additionally, technical education will be made accessible to all, and Hafez-e-Quran students will receive formal state recognition. The ministry also aims to distribute uniforms to 200,000 students within the next 180 days and provide tablets to all teachers within a year. To foster intellectual growth, Math Olympiads at the upazila level and mandatory debate clubs in every educational institution have been made official priorities.
